And so, onwards from the island to Vancouver and the cruise tomorrow. Taking the ferry to and from Vancouver island was a relaxing and scenic experience. It was spacious and pretty clean and efficient and best of all, I could hear what was said over the tannoy clearly, not always the case in airports. Staff were helpful.

It’s unnecessary to book in advance on foot, and prices are very reasonable for the length of the trip, about eleven pounds sterling for an hour and forty minutes from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay.

Food aboard is fine with a choice of hot dishes or snacks and plentiful soft drinks.

It’s a very calm crossing and on the way out there were whales on either side of the boat but too distant to make a good picture. Today no whales but lovely scenery.
It was exceptionally clear and bright today. Overall a nice experience and although it was pretty busy it was efficient.
